The show results

We made around $800 after expenses so we can definitely get her a nice sewing machine and put some of the money away for education. All of the silent auction items have been invoiced from paypal and I'll follow up with an email if I don't hear from folks. Here is the video of the runway walking:

Thank you so much for everything that you all did to make this event so successful.

Molly Doll the fabric paper doll

She has the coolest clothes you can velcro on. Having a fabric paper doll means that the clothes don't rip and I added the cool little suitcase so they never get lost. These sell for around $28 and before the Christmas season you will probably find them on kristenmary.com

State Fair Tickets and Coupon book

Obviously everyone loves the fair. The cookies, the cheese curds, the baby animals.... If you wait and pay at the door it's going to cost you $27, but if you bid at the silent auction, you can help out a great kid and get a good deal for the fair.

The only reason I'm letting this purse go is for a good cause because I love it so. Sarah inspired the purse with her fabric and style picks, leftover fabric allowed me to copy it. It has pockets on the inside for those items you need to keep separate from the wallet and pockets on the outside for keys, ipod, pen and phone (or that's what I keep in my outside pocket - but I guess you can choose). Plus, this purse looks really good on. If I had to sell it, I would ask $60 for it.

Silent Auction Items

I should say there are many more and I will be adding them soon!

Zero G

Launch it, float it, play for hours. You would have to pay $9.99 for it in stores.

Let me know in the comments if you want this item, your bid and your email address.

Catchfire

It launches small balls and does not actually start a fire, though you will get out of the way if someone else is holding it. Catchfire retails for $19.99.

Disc Golf

Everybody loves disc golf, right? It's frisbee, it's golf and obviously it's loads of fun and it retails for $14.99. Who wouldn't want this game? You probably need it.

Let me know in the comments if you want this toy, your bid and your email address.

Zoom-O

One of the most popular toys around, it retails for $9.99 and can be yours. Once you have this item your life will probably improve exponentially and you will have more friends. In other words, this toy is so much fun other kids will want to check it out.

Tickets to the Twins

I have two sets of tickets to the Minnesota Twins. There are two tickets in each set and each set is worth $60. My fabulous employer, Evantage Consulting donated the tickets and I can assure you they are good seats and who doesn't love an evening of baseball? Both sets are for the Kansas City Royals game on Sunday, September 28th at 1:10 PM.

Let me know in the comments if you want one set or two, your bid and your email address.

Previews of the silent auction items

I was going to build a separate page, but then it's getting so close and technically I can keep track of any bids from people who can't be there in the comments, so I'm going to start posting them on the blog. If you are interested in an item, let me know your email address in the comments and if you win I will send you an invoice from paypal and then ship it to you. Sound good? Sweet!

Tona's request

Nicole is making an outfit for her little sister as well and yesterday we gathered her requirements. With a dramatic flourish of her existing dress, she said she would like it to look like this (barbie costume dress) but in light blue and pink and she must have a poofy skirt and be able to twirl. I love the requirements of 4 year olds! This will be a very fun outfit to make I think.

That last pair of pants is all done

Nicole finished the last pair of pants for the fashion show last night and cut out the dress that she will be working on next. With less than a month to go and the need to buy shoes and sort out all the other details it's getting right down to the wire. i will be so glad when the day is here because then we can't really do anything about it - we'll have to be done. Then we can just enjoy the day.

Outfit #4 has fabric!

We bought the fabric for Nicole's final outfit last night. With only a month left we've started meeting twice a week to get all her projects done. We also need to go shopping for shoes to match the outfits and figure out which hairstyle is the best with all her outfits. I'm sure this time will fly by and I am just hoping to keep up. By Thursday she will finish the last pair of pants to pair with her shirt and then we'll cut out the last item in the show. She picked some super cool fabric last night and of course it has sparkles because that kid loves her bling. I would have too at her age. I can't wait to see how it turns out!

The weekly grind

I thought this would be a good space to talk about the weeks leading up to Nicole's Fashion Show. An opportunity to document the process I guess. This week Nicole is finishing up the shirt for her third outfit. There is one complete outfit and two half complete outfits. We're starting to get a bit close to the show so we are working a little harder and faster to get the four outfits done. I'm sure we'll do it in time, but who knew May would get here so quickly. But it's coming together. Just like this site. I can't wait to see the finished product.
